In the final three months of 2021, California received a much needed precipitation boost to statewide drought conditions. And although this rain did provide some drought relief, it also had an impact on the productivity level of almond farmers during their sweeping and mulching phase – it came to a halt.

The slow-moving storm pushed back all operations for post-harvest almond season. The rain would shortly subside, the ground would firm, then another rain event would stop production – a very frustrating few weeks for many farmers, not allowing them to make any type of progress.

But now that the rain has “let up,” almond farmers can continue with production, such as herbicide applications, winter shaking, sweeping, mulching, pruning, and then proceed to shed the pruning itself. This is where the farm managers will take a look at their trees and add another line of tree rope to keep the newer orchard limbs from draping down.

And here’s where Golden Valley Comes in…

We have a plethora of pruning supplies, such as Hickok and Corona loppers, pole pruners, Marvin pruners and much more. We also have both import and domestic Poly Tree Rope at competitive prices.

It’s time to get back into post-harvest production and we are here to get you whatever it is that you need.
